Getting there
By Air
The nearest Scottish Airports are at Glasgow and Edinburgh about ninety
minutes drive by car. Dundee has a small airport (mainly domestic flights)
and is also about ninety minutes drive. Prestwick Airport has many
new routes from Europe and England, and the airport at Aberdeen has
good links to Scandinavia and Northern Europe
By Rail
Pitlochry station is close to Aberfeldy and has regular direct services
to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and London. The Tourist Information
Centre will supply train times.
By Coach
National Express and Citylink have frequent express coaches to Perth.
Stagecoach runs a service from Perth to Aberfeldy. Local buses offer
scenic journeys to small villages. What an adventure to take a round
trip with the Post Bus from Aberfeldy via Weem and Glen Lyon to Lubreoch
and be back in time for lunch! Local bus information can be obtained

Car Hire
As public transport is infrequent in the area most people hire a car

Local Accommodation
Castle Menzies is situated about ½ mile from the village of
Weem, which has limited Bed and Breakfast (B&B), hotel, bunkhouse
(recently opened) and cottages to let. The cottage rentals tend to
run from Saturday to Saturday and are not ideal for a clan gathering
weekend, as the dinner is on a Friday night, and the ceilidh on the
Saturday, but good if you want to stay for two weeks and explore the
area.
Prices vary from approx. £12 per night (at the bunkhouse) to
over £80 a night depending on your choice, but £20-£40
a night per person is an average price for good accommodation on a
b/b basis.
Aberfeldy, the nearest town is about a mile from the castle. It offers
a large selection of accommodation, and has banks, shops, garage,
leisure centre, library, optician, dentist, hairdresser, beauty therapists
and much more.
