Genealogy information
Two major historical incidents frustrate the genealogical researcher.
Namely the burning of the original Menzies stronghold of Comrie Castle
in a dispute with a neighbour (and with it the family papers) and the
dispersal of the contents of the family strongroom when the estate
was broken up and the castle’s contents sold. Thus the Clan Society
unfortunately has little resources for those interested in tracing
genealogical information. However, the Society does have in its possession
a small collection of papers which it has acquired through various
means, which may be useful to those interested in tracing family members.
Please contact the Secretary of the Society to arrange access to these
papers.
The Scottish Genealogical Society can recommend a professional researcher.
